Estimated 2008 APBN Deficit Remains At 1.7 Per Cent |

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said that the estimated 2008 APBN (State Budget of Revenues and Expenditures) deficit remains at 1.7 per cent of GDP or Rp 75 trillion despite changes at several headings.
Due to changes in revenues and expenditures, a number of headings similar underwent changes, the minister told newsmen after meeting President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the presidential office here Monday (1/10). Commenting on the budget for education, she said the percentage stands at 12.3 per cent , as stated by the President in his State Address. “But because of changes in revenues and expenditures, the percentage might become 12 per cent,” she explained. She came to report to the president the progress of 2008 APBN talks now being conducted. (T.Kus/toeb/ton)
