Researchers Support Tourism to Cartensz Peak |

Timika – Head of researchers group of ice core drilling in Papua, Professor Lonnie G. Thompson, supports tourism program to Cartensz Peak, Papua, Indonesia, as organized by the local Agency of Tourism. “The more visit to the gletser, the better people understand the extremely decreasing amount of the gletser that causes the increasing temperature of the earth,” said Lonnie Thompson. However, Lonnie insists the trip to Cartensz Peak will be well organised to keep the gletser and mountains around clean.

Gamelan heaved again. This time, Indonesian Embassy in Vatican colaborating with Saveriani missionary and Pro Loco Decimana association organized gamelan and dance show in San Pietro in Vincoli Ravenna Italia. The Indonesian Ambassador to the Holy See, Suprapto Martosetomo, explained that this show is an example of cultural diversity in Indonesia.

With the theme “Creating a World of Lasting Peace Transcending Differences”, the international conference has a purpose to call for world peace. Indonesia is relevant to be a host of such peace conference because its Pancasila, the citizens are plural from every aspect, and loves peace.

Mamuju- - The supply of 43,457,600 tons of zeolite minerals in Indonesia is at Mamasa and Majene, West Sulawesi. According to the Head of Regional Investment Promotion Agency of West Sulawesi, Ir. Surung Katta, the potency of zeolite mineral mining at two regencies had not been optimized as potential investors have not worked on it yet.

Madiun Students Achieves Gold Medal in International Environment Project Olympiad

Two students of the State Senior High School 5 Kota Madiun (SMAN 5 Kota Madiun) won gold medal for their invention in International Environment Project Olympiad (INEPO) in Istambul, Turkey. Nina Milasari (17) student of eleventh grade of science class and Christina Kartika Bintang Dewi (16) student of tenth grade, invented a seismic resistant brick made of sugar factory dust as presented in their scientific essay entitled The Use of Sugar Factory Dust in Making Seismic Resistant Bricks.

Indonesia natural richness and its big economic potential, especially in marine and fishery sector, need to be optimally managed. The community prosperity could be triggered if the management of this sector is well organized and professionally conducted. For example, the beauty of sea and beach in some islands in Indonesia should be developed for community economic activity so it can bring a high added value. This effort can be realized by using sea and beach region as tourism area, like in Bali, Manado (Bunaken), and other regions. Yogyakarta – The Head of Tourism Office of Special Region of Yogyakarta, Tazbir, said that 2012 will be the important moment for tourism in Yogyakarta in relation to the launching of Visit Jogja 2012 (VJ 2012). “The preparation to succeed VJ 2012 has to be commenced from now, such as organizing an initial coordination meeting with stakeholders of tourism in Yogyakarta, and international events to promote VJ 2012,” he added.

The problem is that the society and world are mostly unaware of Bali’s greatness, due to the inability of the administrator and owner of the museum to tell what and how Bali’s greatness is.

Jakarta – Indonesia hosted the Asia Pasific Conference of Al Quran Huffaz in Istiqlal mosque, Jakarta, 7-10 May 2010. The Head of Conference Director, K.H. Abdul Hasib, said that the conference participated by 11 countries i.e. Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philipinnes, Cambodia, Australia, China, Indonesia, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. The conference officially opened by Minister of Religious Affairs, Suryadharma Ali, and Minister for communication and information, Tifatul Sembiring. The theme of this conference is “The Role of Huffaz Al Quran in the Community”. |
